Orthodontics for Teens

Get the confident smile you deserve with treatment options designed for your active lifestyle

The Perfect Time for Your Best Smile

The teen years are the most common time for orthodontic treatment—and for good reason. Most permanent teeth are in place, jaw growth is nearly complete, and treatment is highly effective. This is typically called Phase 2 or comprehensive treatment, and it's when we create the beautiful, functional smile that will last a lifetime.

At Oliver Orthodontics, we understand that your schedule is packed with school, sports, activities, and social events. We'll design a treatment plan that fits your life—not the other way around.

Braces or Angel Aligners?

Both options deliver amazing results. The right choice depends on your case complexity, lifestyle, and personal preferences.

Common Questions from Teens

Quick answers to what you're probably wondering

How long does treatment take?

Most comprehensive teen treatments take 18-24 months, though some cases finish sooner. Your personalized treatment plan will include an estimated timeline. Consistent wear (for aligners) or good care (for braces) helps you finish on time.

Can I play sports and instruments with braces?

Yes! Many athletes and musicians have braces. For contact sports, we recommend a mouthguard. For instruments, there may be a brief adjustment period, but most students adapt quickly. Angel Aligners can be removed for games and performances.

Will treatment hurt?

You might feel pressure or mild soreness for a few days after getting braces or switching to a new aligner, but it's temporary and manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers. Most patients adjust within the first week.

What if I'm starting treatment in high school?

High school is a great time for treatment! Many students start as freshmen and finish before senior photos or graduation. We work with your schedule and can minimize appointments during important events like finals, prom, or college visits.
